Bramble: Generative Sequencer

Bramble privacy policy

Effective November 10, 2026

Bramble is a music app for Android made by Jared Vargason. This policy says what Bramble does with information about you. In short: Bramble itself sends nothing anywhere, and the only thing that talks to the internet is Google Play's billing, when you buy or restore Bramble Pro.

What Bramble collects

Nothing. Bramble has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting of its own, and it never sends your songs or anything about how you use it to its developer.

What stays on your phone

Files you export or import

When you export a song, audio, a MIDI file, or a kit, or import a song, a kit, or sounds for a kit, you choose where it goes or where it comes from with Android's own file picker. Bramble reads or writes only that file. Sounds you add to a kit are copied into Bramble's own storage on your phone. What happens to an exported file after that (sharing it, uploading it) is up to you and the app you use.

MIDI devices

If you connect a MIDI device or app, Bramble sends it notes and clock so it can play along. This happens on your phone, over the cable, or over Bluetooth to the device you pick; nothing is sent to Bramble's developer.

To find Bluetooth MIDI devices, Bramble looks only for devices offering Bluetooth MIDI, and only while you ask it to. It doesn't use your location, and it remembers only the device you choose, on your phone, so it can reconnect.

Purchases

Bramble Pro is bought through Google Play, using Google's Play Billing Library inside the app. Google Play handles the payment, and your payment details stay with Google. Bramble asks Play only whether your Google account owns Pro, so it can turn it on, and remembers the answer on your phone so Pro keeps working offline.

The Play Billing Library also sends Google information about your purchases and diagnostic information about how billing is working, under Google's privacy policy. Bramble's developer sees what Google Play Console shows any developer about sales (such as orders and refunds), not anything else about you.

Ratings

Once or twice (after an export, say, or just after buying Pro), Bramble asks Google Play to show its rating prompt, using Google's in-app review library. Google Play decides whether to show it, and a rating or review you leave there goes to Google Play like any other, under Google's privacy policy. Bramble never learns whether you rated it, or what you said. To decide when to ask, it counts on your phone how long you've played music, which goes nowhere.

Permissions

Children

Bramble isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
